Scientists discover new state of matter

University of Cambridge researchers claimed to have found the first real evidence of 'Quantum Spin Liquid', a state of matter first predicted in the 1970s. The state causes electrons, thought of as indivisible building blocks, to break into pieces. It was believed to be present in certain magnetic materials but was found in a two-dimensional material with a graphene-like structure.
