PUNJAB'S KING STATUE TO BE INSTALLED IN FRANCE

A statue of Punjab's Maharaja Ranjit Singh will be installed in the French town of Saint-Tropez, the birthplace of the Maharaja's Army General Jean-Francois Allard, this September. The town's Deputy Mayor and descendant of the General invited Punjab Tourism Minister Sohan Singh Thandal to the ceremony. Thandal said this will boost tourism and start a new era of Punjab-France relations.
